Collins Aerospace is seeking a Director to lead the Mission Systems Integrated Product Team (IPT) supporting delivery to Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), the prime contractor to the U.S. Air Force, as part of the broader Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) integrated program baseline. This leader is responsible for the execution, integration, and performance of the Mission Systems IPT scope within the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase, ensuring alignment to the overall program’s technical, schedule, cost, and risk commitments. This is an onsite role in Richardson, TX, Marlborough, MA, Largo, FL, or Cedar Rapids, IA. Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • 12+ years of relevant program or project leadership experience within aerospace, defense, or mission systems development
  • Strong knowledge of mission systems or avionics development, systems engineering, and integration processes
  • Demonstrated experience executing development efforts within DoD acquisition environments or supporting prime contractors
  • Proficiency in EVMS, integrated scheduling, requirements-driven development, and engineering lifecycle management

  • Active or transferable DoD Top Secret security clearance
  • Experience leading Integrated Product Teams within a large integrated program baseline
  • Prior work supporting SNC or similar mission system integrators acting as primes to U.S. Air Force programs
  • Demonstrated leadership working across multi-disciplinary engineering and program execution teams
  • Strong executive presence, communication, and customer engagement capability

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership for the Mission Systems IPT, accountable for technical execution, cost, schedule, scope, and quality performance within the larger SAOC integrated program baseline
  • Lead cross-functional coordination across engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, finance, and mission assurance to meet EMD milestones and integration needs
  • Oversee Mission Systems requirements decomposition, architecture development, design maturation, integration, and verification activities
  • Ensure IPT execution aligns with the Integrated Master Schedule, EVMS baselines, and allocated budgets for assigned control accounts
  • Serve as the primary Collins point of contact to SNC for Mission Systems-related matters; support SNC in their role as prime to the U.S. Air Force
  • Deliver clear, concise executive-level reporting to Collins and RTX leadership on IPT performance, risks, and mitigation actions
  • Lead Mission Systems IPT risk, opportunity, and issue management, ensuring integration with the broader program risk posture
  • Develop, mentor, and guide program managers, IPT leads, and CAMs responsible for Mission Systems execution
  • Champion disciplined execution, technical rigor, and proactive cross-team collaboration
