About The Position

This role is responsible for achieving profitable sales growth and building/executing annual customer business plans across multiple merchants for Walmart & Sam’s Club. The Director, Sales will contribute to strategic annual business plans, track to achieve or exceed net sales targets, and utilize syndicated/other customer data sources to manage and inform strategic and tactical plans. Effective KPI and trade budget management, visibility, and monthly/quarterly sales forecast planning, accuracy are key. The role requires effective communication of business performance and needs, and the ability to inspire and lead direct reports and/or cross-functional field support teams. A sound knowledge of company financials, accounting procedures, trade financials, personnel policies and procedures is necessary. This role drives strategic partnership and long-term focus with all internal & external stakeholders, manages the Customer P&L with a strong understanding of key metrics and business knowledge, and leads cross-functional initiatives driving accountability and ownership. The Director will build and maintain relationships with Walmart, Inc. partners and all pertinent decision makers, support elevated customer and corporate connectivity, and develop strategies to drive category and JMS brand growth for the retailer. Owning JBP planning and goal alignment with key stakeholders and a long-range vision, along with understanding customer technology resources & capabilities, are also critical aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ Years Sales Experience
  • 7+ Years of customer facing, proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets
  • 3+ Years Walmart Sales Experience
  • Strong Customer Management Skills
  • Use of syndicated data sources such as Nielsen or IRI
  • Sound understanding of Walmart systems and processes (Retail link/Scintilla, Item creation and maintenance, Pricing and feature execution, line review processes and general store operations processes)
  • Understanding of P&L Management
  • Understanding of Category Management
  • Understanding of Trade Promotion Management
  • Understanding of Pricing Structures
  • Understanding of Trade Terms
