About The Position

This job works to identify process improvement and cost savings opportunities related to improved product, service and process standardization, and utilization. Reviews and assesses applicable financial, clinical, operational, and evidence based literature. Assists in the selection, evaluation, monitoring, analysis, and implementation of cost-effective products, services and processes in the healthcare system. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with clinical, administrative, and healthcare system staff to ensure effective, results-oriented project outcomes. These activities are conducted while maintaining or improving the quality of care provided to patients. Requirements

  • Registered Nurse Diploma
  • 5 years nursing experience in a hospital setting
  • Experience working independently or as part of a team
  • Experience maintaining flexibility and functioning well under stress
  • Current RN license in the state of practice
  • Interpersonal skills; ability to act as a change agent by selling concepts and influencing various stakeholders (physicians, nurses, administration).
  • Analytical skills; ability to identify variation, trends, and opportunities to reduce cost, eliminate waste and improve patient quality.
  • Organization and time management skills; ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate multiple work.
  • Must have computer skills and proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to the role.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates product, service and process related value analysis projects between administration, clinical, and healthcare system staff.
  • Applies advanced knowledge and clinical expertise to identify products, services and processes that can be standardized, modified and/or eliminated to increase operating efficiency, reduce cost and/or improve patient quality.
  • Interacts with all appropriate department managers to develop, coordinate and integrate cost management programs into departmental services by assisting with program development, data collection and analysis, implementation, monitoring and follow-up.
  • Collaborates with departments to monitor and report on compliance of implemented changes in products, services and processes.
  • Monitors and reports hospital/system-wide value analysis related cost reductions to Decision Support Director and Supply Chain System Vice President.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
