About The Position

General Risk Management responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating various risks that could impact the organization's operations and objectives. Risk Management work focuses on financial, insurance, operational, project, market and/or regulatory risk including identifying and characterizing potential risks, assessing vulnerability of critical assets to specific risks. Manages a department or small unit that includes multiple teams led by Managers and/or Team Leaders. Responsibilities typically include ownership of short to mid-term (1-3 years) execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of the Department. Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis. Requires ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Typically requires mastery level knowledge and skills within assigned discipline, with broad understanding of areas within the job function, generally gained through experience
  • Typically requires 10+ years prior leadership experience, and demonstrates broad management and leadership knowledge to lead multiple job areas

Responsibilities

  • Conducting risk assessments to identify potential threats
  • Developing and implementing risk management strategies and policies
  • Monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Analyzing data to evaluate risk exposure
  • Coordinating risk mitigation efforts across departments
  • Providing training and guidance on risk management practices to ensure organizational resilience
  • Optimizing the organization's insurance coverage in areas such as property & casualty, general liability, product liability, and directors/officer's liability.
  • Risk analysis and modelling to assess probability of specific risks occurring and evaluate/value the impact/consequences of occurrence.
  • Developing process and procedures to report on, manage, and mitigate risks to acceptable levels.
  • Internal and external stakeholder reporting, including regulatory reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
