About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Director of Risk Management, Quality and Medical Staff to provide strategic and operational leadership across hospital risk management, quality, and medical staff functions in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This senior leadership opportunity is designed for an accomplished RN leader with extensive nursing experience and a strong background overseeing healthcare quality, risk, and medical staff operations. The Director will play an important role in strengthening patient safety, regulatory readiness, organizational quality, and risk-management practices while working closely with hospital executives, physicians, nursing leadership, and other clinical teams. This position requires a leader who can manage multiple interconnected functions while maintaining a strong focus on quality outcomes and organizational performance.

Requirements

  • Current New Mexico Registered Nurse (RN) License or qualifying multistate RN license
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
  • Minimum 5 years of nursing experience
  • Minimum 3 years of Director or Manager-level leadership experience
  • Professional experience across Risk Management, Quality, and Medical Staff functions
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) certification preferred upon hire and required within 3 years of employment
  • Strong understanding of healthcare risk, quality, patient safety, and medical staff operations

Nice To Haves

  • Previous acute-care healthcare risk management experience
  • Acute healthcare risk management experience may substitute for the specified leadership experience
  • Experience working within a for-profit hospital environment is strongly preferred
  • Previous Director-level experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with hospital leadership, physicians, and multidisciplinary clinical teams
  • Candidates with previous Director-level leadership in an acute-care or for-profit hospital environment will be especially well aligned.
  • A strong candidate will also either possess the CPHRM credential or be prepared to obtain certification within the required timeframe.
