About The Position

As a Retirement Plan & Wealth Management Advisor, you will focus on servicing and maintaining your block of retirement plan clients. This includes responding to emails, proactively coordinating meetings, and providing support. You will be assigned a block of clients to manage, either shared with an existing advisor or as the primary point of contact. Investment reviews and committee meetings will typically be quarterly or semi-annually. You will collaborate with a team of retirement plan advisors to develop retirement plan education strategies for plan sponsors, including webinars, one-on-one participant meetings, and newsletters. To succeed in this role, you should possess the appropriate licenses and have knowledge of current financial products. A successful advisor is organized, responsive, proactive, knowledgeable, self-motivated, and dedicated to excellence.

Requirements

  • Appropriate licenses and knowledge of all the latest financial products on the market
  • Strong understanding of financial services industry and diverse investment products
  • Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) are essential
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; able to work independently and effectively manage multiple tasks at once
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and internal partners and influence others without direct control
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in the financial services industry (specifically the retirement plan arena)
  • Series 6 or 63 required
  • Series 65/66 preferred (or ability to obtain)

  • Previous experience in the independent financial services culture preferred

Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain a block of retirement plan clients
  • Meet with retirement plan committees to review investments, fees, fiduciary responsibilities, plan design, and general compliance
  • Provide employee education support for clients and with existing team members as needed
  • Create retirement plan education strategies for plan sponsors which include webinars and newsletters
  • Provide guidance to participants regarding their retirement plan accounts (general guidance, instructions for updating investments/contributions, discussing options for rollovers, distributions, etc.)
  • Participate in day-to-day communication with clients and participants proactively
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service and satisfaction
  • Contribute to various team meetings

  • Perform other related duties as requested by clients or managers
