Director, Responsible Sourcing

Estée Lauder Companies•, NY
•$124,200 - $214,450

About The Position

Lead the development, implementation, and execution of global sourcing strategies for assigned commodities, aligning procurement strategies across brands and the supply chain with broad business objectives. The role manages approximately $150 million in packaging spend and one manager, and supports Joint Value Creation partnerships focused on mutual revenue growth, early access to innovation, and margin optimization. Work across the supply chain and internal functions—including R&D, Packaging, and Marketing—to improve cost, quality, supply, and sustainability through supplier management, standardization, negotiations, and strategic sourcing. Lead cross-brand supplier negotiations and oversee contracts, agreements, supplier direction, business awards, strategic supplier relationships, budget planning, and risk mitigation. Track industry best practices, technology trends, regulatory requirements, and environmental practices, and support innovation through evaluation of supplier capabilities and new technologies. For the secondary and tertiary packaging portfolio, develop pricing and order-quantity methodologies; pursue printing and supply-process innovations that enable shorter lead times, smaller runs, supply security, and late-stage differentiation; and identify plastic sustainability solutions. Define material and network strategies that address capacity, security of supply, lead time, certification, value, inventory, obsolescence, and transportation costs. Review packaging-format harmonization and the plastic supply chain with converters, and maintain an appropriate, capable, and competitive supply base.
