The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC Health Department) is seeking a Director, Research and Evaluation for the Bureau of Maternal Infant and Reproductive Health (BMIRH). The Division of Family and Child Health (DFCH) is responsible for programs, policies, services, and environments that support the health and well-being of New York City families and children. The BMIRH specifically focuses on maternal, infant, and reproductive health. The vision of the DFCH is that every child, woman, and family recognizes their power and is given the opportunity to reach their full health and development potential. This role will provide strategic leadership for research, evaluation, and analytic priorities within BMIRH, aligning with department goals, equity frameworks, and community needs. The position involves developing and overseeing research and evaluation agendas, managing data, ensuring human subjects protections, and translating findings into actionable improvements and policy recommendations. Community engagement and equity-centered research are key components of this role, as is communication and dissemination of findings to diverse audiences. The Director will also manage a multidisciplinary team and oversee grant management and budgeting.
