About The Position

Directs, plans, and organizes the staff and activities of Rehabilitation Services to achieve approved clinical goals, and strategic operating plans and objectives. Leads a Rehabilitation Services group by communicating with and developing staff members, and building consensus for programs and goals that support a business, function or geographic area. Develops and articulates a short-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility. Develops and monitors strategic operating goals, objectives and budget; reports operational performance, justification and/or corrective action. Ensures the quality of services provided and administers direct patient care in accordance with the referral of a licensed physician or other state authorized practitioner. Ensures related compliance with government and agency regulations (e.g. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Joint Commission, etc.). Ensures departmental records and statistics are maintained and in compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements. Approves application process for prosthetists/orthotists requesting approval to provide services to Hospital patients. Directs and develops implementation/reinforcement of Departmental programs, policies and procedures. Ensures the quality and appropriateness of patient care and equipment. Oversees the development, integration, communication, implementation, and performance evaluation of operating policies and procedures. Develops and manages direct reports, and oversees the development and management of their staff. Performs related duties as required. Requirements

  • Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Current License to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York State, or Current License to practice as a Registered Occupational Therapist in New York State, or Current License to practice as a Speech Pathologist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of leadership / management experience, required.
