Community Health Action of Staten Island (CHASI) drives dramatic improvements in the health of New Yorkers by feeding people who are hungry, healing families broken apart by violence, and bridging the gaps between people and the compassionate health care they deserve. CHASI provides outreach, education, prevention, and direct support services for populations most affected by health disparities – people with low or no income, low-income people with chronic illnesses, people with criminal justice involvement, people who use drugs, domestic violence survivors, people of color, and the LGBTQ community. POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Recovery Supports and Training is responsible for the development and management of a peer-led, 24/7 Resource & Recovery Center to support people in all stages of recovery and managing the training program at Next Step. The Director is responsible for facilitating the design and implementation of outreach events, volunteer recruitment, training and retention, and support of all Recovery Center services. The Director is responsible for the delivery and implementation of a core training curriculum that includes substance use recovery, recovery coaching, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and professional ethics/ training for emerging peer leaders. The Director will supervise temporary part-time Intern Recovery Coaches, who are graduates of Recovery Coach training. The Director is responsible for facilitating the design and implementation of outreach events, volunteer recruitment, training and retention, and support of all Recovery Center services. The Director will oversee and manage workforce development through the supervision of a Job Developer. In addition, the Director will develop learning collaboratives to support the placement and supervision of trained peers in healthcare, treatment, and social services across Staten Island.
