About The Position

The Director of Radiology is responsible for developing a long-range operational plan for services, programs, capital, and human resources. This includes creating an annual capital equipment and replacement plan, recommending equipment modifications, new equipment, and necessary renovations. The Director also develops the annual operational and capital equipment budget, collects and analyzes data for reports, and addresses errors and problems with patients, physicians, and employees. They approve departmental purchases, product evaluations, and space/equipment utilization according to hospital policy. Additionally, the Director evaluates the quality of services and patient/employee safety, makes recommendations for improvements, and maintains liaison between hospital administration, medical staff, employees, and contractual groups. They also contribute to altering existing services or creating new ones based on market trends and surveys.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Health Care Administration required, or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience required.

  • ARRT preferred.
  • AHRA membership preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops the annual operational and capital equipment budget.
  • Collects, generates, analyzes, and distributes various reports, documents, and statistical data as required.
  • Follows up on error correction and establishes corrective action to address identified problems with patients, physicians, and employees.
  • Approves various departmental purchases, product evaluations, space and equipment utilization as determined by hospital policy.
  • Evaluates all divisions' quality of services and patient/employee safety using various monitors to rate performance.
  • Makes various recommendations for quality improvements.
  • Maintains proper liaison between hospital administration, medical staff, employees, and contractual groups.
  • Contributes to the need to alter existing services or create new services based upon observed or marketing trends and surveys.
