About The Position

Project Ignite is a large-scale enterprise transformation program uniting 20+ operating companies onto a single Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and Project Operations platform. We are building a deployment factory designed to roll out several entities per year across a tiered portfolio — and the Director, Project Management Platforms sits at the heart of that engine. We are seeking an accomplished and strategic leader to own the D365 Project Operations workstream end-to-end: designing the core template, leading a team of Business Systems Analysts through agile delivery, and scaling the model across a complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise. This role sits at the intersection of four distinct stakeholder groups — Sales, Project Management, Field Service, and Accounting — requiring a leader who can navigate competing priorities, drive standardization across a decentralized portfolio, and build durable internal D365 capability that outlasts the PwC System Integrator engagement. Ideal candidates bring deep D365 Project Operations expertise, a player-coach leadership style, and the credibility to be a trusted advisor to business leaders who measure success in very different ways.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Computer Science or a related field (MBA or Master’s preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in ERP transformation, D365 implementation, project management platform delivery, or enterprise technology consulting; Big 4, Microsoft SI, or D365 partner experience strongly preferred
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations, with direct experience leading or governing at least two full-cycle implementations; working knowledge of D365 F&O financials sufficient to oversee the Project Operations-to-GL integration and revenue recognition outputs
  • Proven experience working across Sales, Project Management, Field Service, and Finance stakeholder groups simultaneously — candidates with single-function backgrounds will find the breadth of this role challenging
  • Experience managing or governing a System Integrator relationship in a client-side leadership capacity — able to challenge SI design decisions, enforce template standards, and protect internal ownership of platform architecture and documentation
  • Highly effective communicator with executive presence and strong facilitation skills — able to run workshops with field supervisors and present program status to C-suite in the same week, and align stakeholders who have competing priorities around a shared platform standard
  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Nice To Haves

  • PMP, Microsoft MB-280 (Project Operations), MB-240 (Field Service), or equivalent D365 certification a plus; Lean Six Sigma or agile delivery credentials also valued

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design and deployment of the D365 Project Operations core template for Project Ignite — spanning the full project lifecycle from opportunity and contract through resource deployment, time and expense, project billing, and revenue recognition — balancing standardization with the flexibility required to serve 20+ operating companies
  • Own the Project Operations template integrity across the program — governing configuration standards, fit/gap documentation, and deviation management to ensure every entity deployment inherits a proven, repeatable foundation rather than a bespoke build
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to Sales, Project Management, Field Service, and Finance leadership — managing competing priorities across all four groups, facilitating design decisions that serve the enterprise standard, and developing clear roadmaps for subsequent functionality releases beyond the initial deployment
  • Support integration of acquired businesses into the deployment factory model — assessing entity complexity, slotting acquisitions into the appropriate deployment tier, and driving operational harmonization to the standard Project Operations template
  • Own and develop a team of Business Systems Analysts focused on D365 Project Operations deployment across all entity tiers; this team is the primary business-facing interface for requirements gathering, change management, UAT coordination, cutover readiness, hypercare, and ongoing system support across Sales, Project Management, Field Service, and Accounting functions
  • Partner with the F&O BSA Director and Technical Delivery leadership on matrixed resourcing within the deployment factory — coordinating wave planning, entity readiness, and BSA allocation across Tier 1 common-stack, Tier 2 mid-complexity, and Tier 3 lightweight deployments to sustain 8–10 entity rollouts per year
  • Lead knowledge transfer from PwC to internal BSA team members, ensuring each deployment cycle builds internal D365 Project Operations capability rather than deepening SI dependency; mentor and develop BSAs into autonomous deployment practitioners who can execute the playbook independently
  • Lead executive-level stakeholder engagement across Sales, Project Management, Field Service, and Finance — aligning four groups with distinct success metrics around a shared platform standard, and driving adoption through targeted change management and training strategies tailored to each audience
  • Regular, consistent and necessary to meet the needs of the business
  • Assists the leadership team and other team members with various research projects and/or special projects
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Must conduct self in an ethical, legal, and responsible manner at all times
  • Must adhere to the policies, principles, and guidance within the Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct
