About The Position

As the Director, Project Management Office (PMO), you will be responsible for establishing and leading Crescent Electric Supply Company’s enterprise project management and portfolio governance capability. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership, standards, and oversight for project execution across the organization, ensuring initiatives align with business priorities and deliver measurable value. You will lead and execute a scalable PMO framework that improves project prioritization, execution discipline, and cross-functional coordination. Additionally, you will partner closely with executive leadership to translate strategic priorities into an actionable portfolio of initiatives while building organizational capability in project and program management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years of experience leading complex projects, programs, or enterprise initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large cross-functional initiatives and influence senior leaders.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to build alignment among stakeholders with competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Maintains awareness of evolving AI technologies and actively explores how AI can improve efficiency, insights, and business performance.
  • Demonstrates curiosity, responsible use of AI tools, and a commitment to continuously building digital and AI fluency
  • High level of personal accountability, professionalism, and composure in complex environments.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and quickly build trust across the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred.
  • Experience building or leading a Project Management Office or enterprise portfolio function preferred.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, Agile/Scrum, Lean, and/or Six Sigma certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead Crescent’s enterprise PMO strategy, operating model, governance framework, and project delivery standards.
  • Develop and implement a standardized project management methodology, tools, and best practices to improve consistency, transparency, and execution across initiatives.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership to translate company priorities into a structured portfolio of initiatives.
  • Build enterprise visibility into strategic initiatives, project performance, risks, and resource requirements.
  • Design and lead a structured project intake and prioritization process to evaluate new initiatives and ensure alignment with company strategy.
  • Develop portfolio prioritization frameworks and scoring models that enable data-driven investment decisions.
  • Monitor enterprise project portfolio performance, including timelines, budgets, dependencies, and strategic alignment.
  • Lead recurring portfolio governance reviews with senior leadership to evaluate progress, reallocate resources, and adjust priorities as business conditions evolve.
  • Improve the company’s ability to execute cross-functional initiatives by providing tools, guidance, and governance to project leaders.
  • Manage enterprise project demand versus organizational capacity to ensure realistic commitments and effective resource utilization.
  • Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to measure project delivery performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify and implement modern project management tools, frameworks, and practices that improve speed, transparency, and outcomes.
  • Foster strong collaboration across departments to ensure successful delivery of complex initiatives.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and capability development to project managers and business leaders responsible for executing initiatives.
  • Promote organizational adoption of disciplined project management practices and strengthen enterprise project management maturity.
  • Facilitate alignment among stakeholders with competing priorities and resolve conflicts impacting project execution.
  • Proactively identify enterprise risks, dependencies, and barriers impacting major initiatives.
  • Escalate strategic issues and provide leadership with recommendations for mitigation and resolution.
  • Ensure effective communication of project risks, milestones, and performance metrics to stakeholders and executives.
