About The Position

As a management employee, in addition to your regular vacation entitlement, managers will be credited the full five days of vacation supplement each January 1st and it will not be earned throughout the year. Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills acquired through leading large, complex teams with a specific focus in case management and programming in a correctional, law enforcement or social services environment.
  • Motivated to play an active role in the management of the largest remand facility in Canada.
  • Effective networking skills are essential as this position is required to interact daily and maintain positive relationships with law enforcement agencies, other correctional and remand centers, the judiciary, lawyers, service providers and other ministry agents.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and must be able to adjust your communication to suit a variety of audiences.
  • Interpersonal skills, decision making skills and problem-solving abilities are critical.
  • The ability to promote staff engagement and lead staff effectively will ensure your success in this role.
  • University graduation in a related field (Criminology, Criminal Justice , Public Administration Law Enforcement, Justice Studies, etc.)
  • Six years of progressively responsible experience (Deputy Director, Assistant Deputy Director, Director, Senior Manager)
  • Progressively responsible in program management, operations, service delivery, or a related field.
  • Experience leading diverse teams, managing stakeholder relationships, and providing strategic advice in a complex environment is essential.
  • Experience with policy development, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives will be considered an asset.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience managing case management, release planning and programming units within a correctional environment.
  • Post-secondary education and/or continued professional development in leadership, management, human resources, change management will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the planning, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of programs and services.
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for ensuring case management, release planning and program referrals are occurring through established best practices.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, inclusion, and continuous learning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support program effectiveness and organizational goals.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations to senior leadership on program development, policy implementation, emerging issues, risks, and opportunities.
  • Drive operational excellence by monitoring program performance, identifying improvements, and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Ensure programs and services comply with applicable legislation, policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Represent the organization on committees, working groups, and stakeholder forums, promoting collaboration and strategic partnerships.
