About The Position

The Director of Procurement, Professional Services is responsible for developing and executing enterprise-wide sourcing strategies for professional services categories, including management consulting, technology, customer experience (CX) services, business process outsourcing (BPO), IT contingent labor, marketing services, and select software spend. This role partners with executive business stakeholders to drive financial value creation, improve supplier performance, mitigate risk, and drive measurable value through strategic sourcing, commercial negotiations, and supplier relationship management. The Director will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, ensuring procurement is aligned with business objectives, innovation initiatives, operational requirements, and financial goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Economics, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive procurement and strategic sourcing experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing procurement teams.
  • Significant experience sourcing and negotiating professional services, consulting, and SaaS agreements.
  • Proven track record delivering substantial cost savings, contract optimization, and supplier performance improvements.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management expertise.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional sourcing initiatives with executive stakeholder engagement.
  • Advanced analytical and financial modeling capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Establish multi-year sourcing roadmaps aligned with enterprise business priorities and cost management objectives.
  • Identify, align, and drive value creation opportunities through levers including (but not limited to) volume consolidation leverage, demand management, and specification optimization developing and leveraging key procurement tools including RFPs, negotiation playbooks.
  • Drive procurement involvement early in business planning and vendor selection processes.
  • Manage sourcing strategies and supplier portfolios for categories such as: Management consulting, Customer experience and customer support services, Business process outsourcing (BPO), Digital transformation services, IT consulting and systems integration, Legal and specialized professional services, IT Contingent workforce and staff augmentation.
  • Deliver annual procurement savings, cost avoidance, and value realization targets.
  • Build total cost of ownership models and business cases supporting sourcing decisions.
  • Develop spend analytics and market intelligence to guide procurement strategy.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes through category expertise and supplier insights.
  • Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with strategic suppliers.
  • Establish supplier performance management frameworks, scorecards, and governance models.
  • Conduct business reviews with key suppliers to assess performance, innovation, and value delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to improve supplier competitiveness and service effectiveness.
  • Ensure supplier agreements comply with corporate policies, legal requirements, cybersecurity standards, and regulatory obligations.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Information Security, and Risk Management teams to mitigate supplier risks.
  • Implement procurement governance processes that enhance control and transparency across third-party spend.
  • Director, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, customer service, continuous improvement, and strategic thinking.
  • Establish performance objectives and career development plans for team members.
  • Champion procurement best practices and change management initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Partner with senior level stakeholders in Transformation, IT & Technology, Customer Experience.
  • Support strategic technology initiatives, digital transformation programs, and enterprise projects.
  • Influence purchasing decisions through market intelligence and procurement expertise.
  • Communicate sourcing results, supplier performance, and savings achievements to senior leadership.
