Director, Product Management, Technical

QXOSeattle, WA
$175,000 - $400,000

About The Position

QXO is a leading distributor and installer of building products serving an $800 billion market. The company’s mission is to modernize the building products industry through advanced technology and a best-in-class customer experience. QXO is North America’s largest distributor and installer of insulation, the second-largest distributor of roofing products, the second-largest publicly traded distributor of lumber and building materials, and the largest distributor of waterproofing products. The company is targeting $50 billion in annual revenue within the decade through accretive acquisitions and organic growth. For more information, visit QXO.com. As a Director of Product, you will define and lead the product strategy for one or more critical areas of QXO's digital commerce platform. You will build and develop high-performing product teams while partnering closely with Engineering, Design, Data Science, and executive leadership to deliver innovative customer experiences that accelerate QXO's transformation into the technology leader of the building products industry. You will own long-term product vision, portfolio prioritization, organizational planning, and execution across multiple product domains. You'll balance customer needs, business priorities, and technical investments while helping shape how millions of customers discover, purchase, and manage products across QXO's ecosystem. This leader will influence company strategy, establish product operating mechanisms, mentor senior product managers, and ensure teams consistently deliver measurable customer and business outcomes. This Director of Product role leads Search & Discovery for QXO's digital commerce platform — the experience that helps professional builders, contractors, and trades find the right product at the right price and availability in as few steps as possible. Discovery in building products distribution is defined by intent and precision rather than browsing: buyers arrive knowing what they need and search by manufacturer part number, SKU, UPC, spec, or cross-reference across a catalog spanning hundreds of thousands of items in categories such as lumber, roofing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and specialty building materials. You will own the end-to-end discovery journey — search relevance and ranking, autocomplete, faceted browse and taxonomy, product-data and attribute enrichment, substitute and equivalent matching, and reorder and quick-order flows — while ensuring results reflect account-specific contract pricing, entitlements, and branch-level inventory. You will partner with Data Science and Engineering to advance ranking, personalization, and AI-assisted and semantic search, and with Merchandising, Category, and PIM teams to close the product-data gaps that are the single largest constraint on discovery quality in distribution. Success is measured in findability and conversion: lower zero-result rates, higher add-to-cart and search-driven revenue, and the speed and confidence that keep pros buying through QXO rather than a competitor or the branch counter.
