Director, Product Management & Platform Delivery Operations

Verto HealthToronto, ON
CA$150,000 - CA$180,000Remote

About The Position

Verto Health is a health technology company focused on solving data fragmentation and interoperability challenges in healthcare. Our AI-enabled platform unifies patient data from various systems to provide actionable insights for health systems and value-based care organizations. This role is responsible for leading the product management discipline and the delivery engine that enables the scalable deployment of our sophisticated platform. The Director will lead a team of Product Managers and Technical Delivery Leads, ensuring alignment between product, engineering, go-to-market, and Implementations & Business Development teams. The role involves owning both the product and its productized delivery capability, aiming to make deployments leaner, more repeatable, and scalable. This position is a blend of operator (product delivery, budgets, team management) and strategist (product direction, roadmap, P&L, go-to-market), reporting to the CIO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in product technology environments
  • 5+ years of experience managing complex ICT technology products, preferably in healthcare
  • A track record running complex, multi-workstream product or transformation programs in a software company.
  • Real people-leadership experience, including managing managers and product and delivery leaders, and the standing to influence senior leaders and partners through dotted-line relationships.
  • Experience turning bespoke implementations into repeatable, low-touch deployments that scale with a small team.
  • Experience building or running a delivery or professional-services practice that improved speed and repeatability.
  • Experience in a regulated, quality-managed software environment (for example ISO 9001, an Information Security Program (ISP), and HIPAA and Canadian health privacy legislation), including audit readiness and risk management.
  • Strong command of both Agile and Waterfall, and the ability to build hybrid approaches that suit fast AI development cycles.
  • An AI-first mindset and genuine daily use of AI tools.
  • Advanced skills with Jira, Confluence, Outline, and Google Workspace, including Gemini.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred project management certification such as PMP
  • Healthcare domain depth across clinical NLP, health-data interoperability (HL7/FHIR, IPS), and reimbursement or value-based care models.
  • Hands-on understanding of agentic orchestration, LLMs, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation).

Responsibilities

  • Balance customer needs, market opportunities, technical investment, and commercial priorities when making roadmap decisions.
  • Own product portfolio and prioritization of development resources.
  • Ensure every roadmap initiative has measurable customer and business outcomes.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Business Development to ensure product direction aligns with market demand.
  • Bring healthcare domain awareness to product strategy, including Canadian and US value-based care and reimbursement models and interoperability standards such as HL7/FHIR and IPS.
  • Build and own a repeatable way to deliver releases with the ability to create standards, templates, and playbooks that let the team deploy consistently and track speed, cost, and quality.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Product Managers and Technical Delivery Leads, and hold delivery to the standards set.
  • Capture metrics with the aim to ensure that each deployment takes less time, less custom work, and fewer people.
  • Maintain product quality and risk practices for what the team ships, including audit readiness, risk tracking, and release discipline, within the company’s quality framework.
  • Chair the Product Release Committee (PRC), setting quarterly release priorities and (co-)owning release plans with development management, and represent Product and delivery on the project and quality management committees.
  • Own the deployability and operability of the product as part of its lifecycle: marshal the right resources and run the activities that produce the playbooks, tooling, and measurement needed to deploy and operate each capability repeatably and at scale.
  • Build a delivery practice, a consultancy-style program and reusable methodology that makes our deployments leaner, more repeatable, and faster over time.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver the productized capabilities and services, providing the product and technical execution to configure, deploy, and stand up the solution while Implementations & Business Development runs the client project and contracting.
  • On new or undefined engagements, supply the product expertise while Implementations & Business Development’s clinical leads shape workflow discovery and future-state design, and productize those solutions once they stabilize.
  • Responsibly escalate technical risks and requirements to technical leadership to ensure cross-functional alignment on product and technical delivery.
  • Design and run the team’s delivery cadence (kickoffs, status updates, roadmap reviews).
  • Own the product and delivery tooling so stories, releases, sprints, and delivery playbooks connect cleanly, and integrate with the PMO’s contracting and SoW process.
  • Make AI-first the default way the team works, using AI to take over manual tasks like status reports, risk spotting, audit queries, story writing, and routine product engineering.
  • Work with the technical teams to build AI tools into everyday workflows.
  • Move the team from reactive reporting toward earlier risk mitigation, better resource use, and roadmap calls informed by data.
  • Own the product KPI dashboards and ensure leadership has the appropriate access and necessary context to interpret the status of delivery and product health.
  • Allocate people against business priorities, and partner with cross-functional leads and the delivery team to track allocation and utilization across platform projects.
  • Flag potential budget shortfalls early.
  • Help build the annual budget for your areas, and keep reviewing where the money goes.
