About The Position

Product Teams at Target Corporation are accountable for the delivery of business outcomes enabled through technology and analytic products that are easy to use, easily maintained and highly reliable. Product teams have one shared backlog that is inclusive of all product, technology and design work. Physical Intelligence is an emerging enterprise product space focused on turning signals from Target's physical environments into reusable intelligence capabilities that create value in service of stores. This team starts with capabilities such as computer vision, smart building signals, RFID, and camera infrastructure standardization, while also looking beyond today's portfolio to identify new ways physical signals, data, and AI can improve decisions, simplify work, and enable better experiences for team members, store leaders, field and HQ teams, and guests.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of combined experience across product management and domain experience, preferably in physical intelligence, computer vision, RFID, smart buildings, sensing, IoT, edge or physical infrastructure capabilities, enterprise platforms, data products, AI/ML products, or adjacent signal-based product spaces
  • Experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to influence both at a strategic leadership level and cross functionally
  • Expert at working in the agile environment (e.g. user stories, iterative development, scrum teams, sprints, personas)
  • Strategic mindset and bias for action with strong ability for strategic planning, defining OKRs and driving business outcomes
  • Ability to lead and influence a team while fostering relationships across multiple enterprise-wide teams
  • Deep understanding of data, analytics, AI/ML concepts, and how models, signals, and systems come together to generate actionable intelligence
  • Systems thinker who can connect physical device signals, operational context, and business outcomes to solve complex enterprise problems
  • Experience building reusable enterprise capabilities, shared platforms, or standards that enable multiple products, workflows, or teams

Responsibilities

  • Set the overall strategic vision for your product space and product team.
  • Accountable for succeeding against identified business outcomes and metrics.
  • Set and manage the product’s budget and financials.
  • Set the short- and long-term product goals, and quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
  • Accountable for building, coaching, and mentoring a strong team of product owners while also building a strong team culture of progress, transparency, and efficiency across Product teams.
  • Elevate your collective team’s performance by providing insightful, motivating, and constructive feedback to all roles on the team.
  • Work with senior leadership and peers across pyramids to negotiate and remove execution related barriers for your teams.
  • Drive product discovery with key stakeholders to validate hypotheses and concepts with customers before committing engineering time.
  • Lead highly complex work across multiple pyramids, with interrelated specialties.
  • Leverage data and analytics to provide competitive analysis, drive decision making, assess the health and effectiveness of your products and related P&L impacts, and to deliver recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Understand retail or similar areas, relevant technologies and design principles to drive innovative and scalable solutions across multiple pyramids within Target.
