About The Position

The Director, Product Development – Internet Services is accountable for defining and executing the company’s broadband product and network strategy to drive sustainable growth, competitive differentiation, and superior customer experience. The role bridges commercial product management and network investment strategy, ensuring that broadband portfolio decisions are directly informed by network capacity, technology evolution, and market opportunity.

Requirements

  • Engineering, or B.A. in Business, Commerce Degree
  • Strong financial modeling, business case development, and P&L management skills
  • Strong understanding of Canadian internet and the telecommunications market
  • Strong Product Management background
  • 10–15+ years of progressive experience in product management or development within telecommunications or technology sectors.
  • 5 years owning and being accountable for a significant P&L KPI
  • Proven track record of leading end-to-end product development for broadband, wireless, or enterprise connectivity services.
  • Experience managing multi-product portfolios with significant revenue contribution.
  • Deep understanding of telecom technologies (fiber, wireless, IP networking, OSS/BSS systems, digital platforms).
  • Demonstrated success working in cross-functional, matrixed environments to deliver high-impact results.
  • Extremely strong presentation, communication and collaboration skills
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Background Check

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the broadband product strategy and roadmap aligned with market trends, customer needs, and company objectives.
  • Integrate network planning and product development, ensuring commercial and technical strategies are synchronized.
  • Lead portfolio evolution including fiber, fixed wireless, and future access technologies.
  • Collaborate with Network Strategy and Finance to identify high-value build and upgrade opportunities.
  • Support capital planning through ROI modeling, subscriber forecasts, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Provide input into long-range network investment plans, balancing growth and capacity needs.
  • Oversee full product lifecycle — concept, business case, design, launch, and optimization.
  • Lead cross-functional development with Network Engineering, IT, Operations, and Marketing.
  • Ensure product performance meets commercial and service quality targets.
  • Use analytics, segmentation, and customer feedback to inform product enhancements.
  • Monitor competitive landscape and industry trends to maintain differentiation.
  • Champion a seamless, high-quality broadband experience from installation to daily use.
  • Track KPIs and lead regular performance reviews with cross-functional partners.
  • Ensure benefits realization from network expansion and product initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and data-driven decision making.
  • Collaborate closely with network engineering, sales, marketing, finance and customer service teams to align product strategies with company goals.
  • Represent product team at executive committees and cross-functional governance forums.
