USAA is seeking a dedicated Director, Product Development - Property. This role involves managing a team responsible for overseeing and managing the launch and maturation of Valuable Personal Property products into target strategic markets, as well as driving personal property (contents) strategy across all property products. The position requires serving as a cross-functional expert, providing leadership, product expertise, and support for initiatives related to product development, compliance, operational and process improvements, claims management, vendor management, product documentation, fulfillment, and/or system releases. The role is responsible for the development of digital-first products supporting the needs and risks of USAA Members, overseeing the development and launch of new innovative product offerings, as well as auxiliary/enhanced features/services for existing products. It also involves developing and finalizing recommendations to launch new products and evaluating decisions to buy/build or ally for the line of business. The Director will generate creative product and coverage solutions for member needs to ensure a dynamic product development pipeline, maintain a thorough knowledge of business and underwriting performance for products in scope, and manage post-launch maintenance and underwriting of 'new in market' products based on product performance, member needs, and competitive changes. The role leverages cross-functional resources to gather data and member information to support product strategy formulation and competitive intelligence, and leads a team in analyzing internal and external data and member information for the same purposes. The Director will develop and communicate the new product value proposition across teams and leadership levels, ensure the product development team delivers sales support to all distribution channels, and direct the analysis and evaluation of new product performance metrics to adapt offerings if necessary prior to full launch. Coordination with control partners (Legal, Compliance, Risk Management) is essential to ensure compliance with laws and regulations. The role also includes coaching and developing employees on the product development team to drive performance and engagement, and ensuring risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
