About The Position

Microsoft Business Operations (MBO) is a global organization that supports Commercial and Consumer Revenue Operations, Product and Program Launches, SKU/Pricing Operations, and Enterprise Risk Management programs. MBO collaborates with Sales, Finance, Engineering, Legal, and Compliance to enhance deal velocity and quality, reduce transaction costs, and ensure operational and regulatory compliance. MBO is responsible for critical enterprise risk programs such as Global Trade, Responsible AI, Anti-Corruption, and Digital Safety. This Process Excellence Director role is part of the Operations Enablement team within MBO. The Operations Enablement team focuses on utilizing AI and process/continuous improvement frameworks and tools to accelerate operational and business outcomes while upholding trust, compliance, and resilience. This leader will be key in deploying innovative process and continuous improvement tools and methodologies to streamline workflows and drive efficiencies. They will also be at the forefront of integrating AI to enhance processes and accelerate business outcomes. This leader will work at the intersection of revenue operations, product and capability launches, customer and partner lifecycle operations, and enterprise risk programs. They will translate strategy into operational execution at scale. They will lead project teams to design and streamline end-to-end operational capabilities, ensuring business priorities are met through clear, efficient, AI-enabled operating models, measurable outcomes, and strong compliance. The role involves close partnership with senior leaders across Sales, Operations, Finance, Engineering, Legal, and Risk to drive and implement necessary improvements. This role requires a strong systems mindset, executive communication and presence, experience applying process improvement methodologies in an enterprise-scale environment, and a passion for applying AI to reduce waste and accelerate outcomes. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 6+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 8+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
  • Strong systems mindset.
  • Executive communication and presence.
  • Experience applying process improvement methodologies in an enterprise-scale environment.
  • Passion to apply AI to reduce waste and accelerate outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 12+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience (e.g., data analytics) OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 15+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience (e.g., data analytics) OR equivalent experience.
  • Lean, Business Process Management Professional, Change Management (e.g., Prosci), Six Sigma, and/or Agile certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Drive process excellence through Microsoft Business Operations.
  • Play a critical role in ensuring processes are AI-enabled and optimized for maximum value.
  • Create a framework that clarifies engagement and accountability for Corporate, MCAPS, MBO, and team-level continuous improvement projects.
  • Curate and deploy a continuous improvement toolkit for MBO, empowering MBO process owners to identify and drive targeted improvements in speed-to-market, reduced operational cost, and improved partner/customer experience.
  • Establish and operate governance for MBO CI initiatives, using data, KPIs, and key priorities to allocate dedicated CI resources to the most critical MBO processes and priorities.
  • Lead process improvement projects for complex MBO processes, measure outcomes, and assess process performance.
  • Monitor that MBO process owners are delivering expected CI results (accelerate delivery, reduce cost, increase security and compliance, improve experience).
  • Develop and manage stakeholder executive/leadership engagement rhythm to resolve challenges and drive sustainment of improvements.
