About The Position

The Director of Sales Operations is responsible for architecting and implementing a best-in-class go-to-market strategy and operational foundation for Outside Sales at The Home Depot. This role serves as the critical bridge between organizational vision and field execution, translating complex sales strategies into actionable operational frameworks across the entire portfolio lifecycle. Some of the key responsibilities include coordinating customer segmentation across sales channels, managing account transitions, and overseeing the accurate administration of the Variable Compensation program. Ultimately, this role ensures operational rigor by removing friction for field teams and establishing hardened, repeatable processes that align with enterprise sales objectives.

Requirements

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
  • Strong personnel management and leadership skills.
  • Strong Sales skills and sales management skills.
  • Industry knowledge and awareness.

  • Prior experience in the retail, wholesale, or construction industries and/or experience in sales operations

Responsibilities

  • Establishing operational process for Pro Outside Sales teams
  • Implementing go-to-market strategy
  • Overseeing administration of Variable Compensation program
  • Being a key partner to Outside Sales leadership
  • Managing complex cross-functional initiatives
  • Establishing roadmaps and KPIs for operations
  • Leading through strategic changes, and introduces metrics designed to track the effects of action plans and determine whether the actions are effective at meeting targets or whether new plans should be developed
  • Developing an effective plan for communicating project information to teams and stakeholders; Develops written status reports and scorecards, and presents review documents to senior leaders
  • Responsible for the assessment and selection of talent, builds effective teams, develops others through coaching feedback and guidance, aligns goals, and creates a positive culture through driving engagement
  • Lead the establishment of a suite of common processes, operating procedures, policies, reports and tools across all programs that encompass THD Pro resources; Works to ensure accountability in execution of programs in adherence to established processes and monitor operational performance
  • Govern program pipeline in partnership with senior leaders to ensure the highest and best use of resources; Based on performance and strategic metrics, make recommendations for expansion or contraction of key initiatives and identify overlaps
  • Develop an effective plan for controlling project scope, schedule, task assignment, budget, and monitors project execution to ensure the plan is being followed; Documents the project dependencies and ensures a viable work plan is created that results in the on time completion of the project
  • Maintains a close and positive relationship with cross-functional leaders to ensure smooth and seamless integration of new programs into regular operations when appropriate; Obtains feedback on an ongoing basis to monitor the degree to which programs meet needs and expectations
