Director, Privacy Legal

Netflix•Los Angeles, CA
•$550,000 - $945,000

About The Position

Netflix is seeking a Director to lead privacy legal support for its rapidly scaling global advertising business. The role advises Ads, Product, and Measurement teams on data collection, targeting, and partner data flows; embeds privacy-by-design into new ad products and partnerships; and supports responsible revenue growth in compliance with complex U.S. and global privacy laws. The Director will also support the broader privacy and data security team as needs arise. The role is ideally based in Netflix’s Los Angeles or Los Gatos, California office, with New York also considered. The Director will serve as the primary privacy legal advisor to Netflix’s global advertising organization, partnering on products, features, and integrations from ideation through launch. The position covers advertising privacy laws and practices, programmatic advertising and data-sharing arrangements, commercial agreement review, consent and identifier use, regulatory and self-regulatory matters, and evolving privacy legislation. The role works closely with Ads, Product, Measurement, Commercial and Partnerships Legal, Privacy Engineering, Global Privacy Legal, and Public Policy. It also involves training stakeholders and building scalable privacy review processes for the UCAN advertising business, while providing adjacent privacy and cybersecurity legal guidance as needed.
