About The Position

Reporting to the Deputy Minister, the Director, Policy and Planning is accountable for guiding and assisting in the development, amendment, or revision of departmental Acts, policies, regulations, and legislation, as well as coordinating departmental strategic planning and supporting decision-making through briefing and Cabinet submission processes. The position is responsible for collecting, recording, and analyzing information on issues related to culture, language, heritage, Elders, and youth in Nunavut, and for providing information on departmental programs and services to the public. The Director also plays a central role in reviewing and advising on policies and legislation across Government of Nunavut departments and agencies.

Responsibilities
