About The Position

The Director, Philanthropy is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward individual annual/major gifts, planned giving, corporate partnerships, and grants. This role provides direction for fundraising channels including direct response, digital, email, and event sponsorships. The Director will develop the annual Advancement Budget, set fundraising goals, and lead the Advancement Team in donor identification, cultivation, and solicitation. This position also involves analyzing fundraising performance, staying current with industry advancements, and providing vision for a comprehensive Advancement Program. A key aspect of this role is building a pipeline of future donors to strengthen relationships and broaden support across diverse demographics and giving capacities. The Director will also oversee social media, marketing, and communications strategies to advance awareness and community engagement, and may participate in media speaking engagements.

Requirements

  • Experience in developing cultivation, stewardship, and prospecting strategies for individual annual/major gifts, planned giving, corporate partnerships and grants.
  • Experience providing direction regarding strategic planning in fundraising channels (direct response, digital, email, event sponsorships).
  • Experience developing annual budgets and setting fundraising goals.
  • Experience leading a team in donor identification, cultivation, and solicitation.
  • Experience analyzing and reporting on fundraising performance.
  • Knowledge of advancements and changes in communication, fundraising, and development.
  • Experience directing and adapting strategies and practices.
  • Experience building and managing an Advancement Program (Donor Relations, Volunteer Development, Corporate Partnerships, Communication).
  • Experience building a pipeline of potential donors.
  • Experience approaching constituencies to increase and diversify philanthropic giving.
  • Experience developing and overseeing social media, marketing, and communications strategies.
  • Experience participating in speaking engagements with media.

Responsibilities

  • Develops cultivation, stewardship, and prospecting strategies for individual annual/major gifts, planned giving, corporate partnerships and grants.
  • Provide direction regarding the strategic planning in fundraising channels to include but not limited to: direct response, digital, email and event sponsorships.
  • Develops annual Advancement Budget to include fundraising goals for individual donors, corporate donations, and grant awards.
  • Leads the Advancement Team in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and expanding the number of prospective donors, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Provides analysis and reporting on overall performance of fundraising against goals and strategic plan.
  • Stays apprised of advancements and changes pertinent to communication, fundraising, and development profession.
  • Directs and leads adaptations to current strategies and practices in accordance with these changes and as necessary.
  • Provides vision and direction to build and manage a full-scale Advancement Program to include Donor Relations, Volunteer Development, Corporate Partnerships and Communication.
  • Builds the pipeline of potential future donors that will allow the organization to strengthen its relationship with its existing giving base and broaden its support across generations, socio-economic sectors, races, religions and giving ability.
  • Approaches appropriate constituencies to increase and diversify philanthropic giving.
  • Develops and oversees the social media, marketing and communications strategies that will advance awareness and engage the community to support the mission of LifePath.
  • Participates in speaking engagements with media as needed to promote LifePath Christian Ministries.
