About The Position

The Director, Philanthropy will develop cultivation, stewardship, and prospecting strategies for individual annual/major gifts, planned giving, corporate partnerships, and grants. This role provides direction regarding strategic planning in fundraising channels, including direct response, digital, email, and event sponsorships. The Director will also develop the annual Advancement Budget, lead the Advancement Team, provide analysis and reporting on fundraising performance, stay apprised of industry advancements, and direct adaptations to current strategies. A key responsibility is to provide vision and direction to build and manage a full-scale Advancement Program, including Donor Relations, Volunteer Development, Corporate Partnerships, and Communication. This role will build the pipeline of potential future donors to strengthen relationships and broaden support across diverse demographics and giving abilities. Additionally, the Director will develop and oversee social media, marketing, and communications strategies to advance awareness and engage the community, and participate in speaking engagements with media as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in developing cultivation, stewardship, and prospecting strategies for individual annual/major gifts, planned giving, corporate partnerships, and grants.
  • Experience in strategic planning for fundraising channels (direct response, digital, email, event sponsorships).
  • Experience in developing annual budgets and setting fundraising goals.
  • Leadership experience in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting donors, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Experience in analyzing and reporting on fundraising performance.
  • Knowledge of advancements and changes in communication, fundraising, and development.
  • Experience in building and managing an Advancement Program (Donor Relations, Volunteer Development, Corporate Partnerships, Communication).
  • Experience in building donor pipelines and diversifying philanthropic giving.
  • Experience in developing and overseeing social media, marketing, and communications strategies.
  • Experience in public speaking and media engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develops cultivation, stewardship, and prospecting strategies for individual annual/major gifts, planned giving, corporate partnerships and grants.
  • Provide direction regarding the strategic planning in fundraising channels to include but not limited to: direct response, digital, email and event sponsorships.
  • Develops annual Advancement Budget to include fundraising goals for individual donors, corporate donations, and grant awards.
  • Leads the Advancement Team in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and expanding the number of prospective donors, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Provides analysis and reporting on overall performance of fundraising against goals and strategic plan.
  • Stays apprised of advancements and changes pertinent to communication, fundraising, and development profession.
  • Directs and leads adaptations to current strategies and practices in accordance with these changes and as necessary.
  • Provides vision and direction to build and manage a full-scale Advancement Program to include Donor Relations, Volunteer Development, Corporate Partnerships and Communication.
  • Builds the pipeline of potential future donors that will allow the organization to strengthen its relationship with its existing giving base and broaden its support across generations, socio-economic sectors, races, religions and giving ability.
  • Approaches appropriate constituencies to increase and diversify philanthropic giving.
  • Develops and oversees the social media, marketing and communications strategies that will advance awareness and engage the community to support the mission of LifePath.
  • Participates in speaking engagements with media as needed to promote LifePath Christian Ministries.
