About The Position

Under the general direction of the Vice President of Operations & CAO, this role plans, organizes, directs, controls, and evaluates the provision of pharmacy services to Firelands Health patients, employees, and medical staff. The position ensures compliancy with various regulatory bodies including the Food and Drug Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy, as well as meeting the standards of the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC). This role involves monitoring and controlling revenue and expense budgets, allocating and managing the human resources of the department, and is responsible for the implementation of Firelands Health policies, along with the development of departmental policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include providing for a safe and effective drug distribution system, a cost-effective pharmaceutical purchasing program, and comprehensive dissemination of drug information to patients and staff. The Director also supports the mission and philosophy of Firelands Health.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited school.
Licensed by the State of Ohio.
At least 3 years of managerial experience in a progressive medical center pharmacy environment.
Ability to read and write small letters and numbers and perform complex arithmetic and financial applications.
Ability to understand and effectively communicate in both written and oral form.
Punctual attendance at assigned work location.
Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident-free work place.
Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of emergency codes.
Compliance with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations.
Utilization of proper personal protective equipment.
Ability to comply with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms.
Ability to achieve all departmental goals and competencies.
Actively contribute to the department’s ongoing strategic initiatives.
