About The Position

VaxCare is looking for an experienced and strategic Director, People Business Partner to help shape the organization, talent, and leadership capabilities needed for our next stage of growth. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this leader will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, developing a deep understanding of the business, and translating priorities into thoughtful organization and People strategies. The role will partner with leaders across organizational design, workforce planning, talent and succession, leadership effectiveness, performance, change, and employee relations. Working closely with the Chief People Officer, the Director will help establish the People Business Partner role within the organization, define how the partnership model works in practice, build credibility with leaders and teams, and develop scalable approaches and operating rhythms that strengthen the connection between the People Team and the business. The right person will be both strategic and hands-on, comfortable moving between enterprise-level organizational questions and complex day-to-day people matters. They will bring strong business acumen, curiosity, sound judgment, and the ability to build trusted relationships while constructively challenging thinking when needed.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive Human Resources/People experience, including significant experience as an HR Business Partner or People Business Partner.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a strategic advisor to senior executives and business leaders.
  • Strong experience across organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, performance management, change management, and complex employee relations.
  • Experience helping build, evolve, or mature an HR/People Business Partner model or similar strategic People capability strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business strategy and translate it into practical organization and People solutions.
  • Proven success coaching and influencing leaders, including navigating challenging or sensitive decisions.
  • Strong analytical capability and experience using workforce data and organizational insights to inform decisions and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively through growth, change, and ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
  • Team Members in this position will be responsible for implementing and acting in accordance with VaxCare's information security policies; protecting assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction, or interference; executing specific security processes or activities as assigned by the Information Security and/or Privacy Officers; and reporting security events or potential security risks to the organization. Team Members in this role may be involved in the processing of protected patient and/or payment information and will be responsible for ensuring the security and privacy of the information within their scope of work.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted People advisor to senior leaders, developing a deep understanding of business priorities, operating needs, and talent challenges.
  • Translate business priorities into organization, talent, and workforce strategies that strengthen execution and support sustainable growth.
  • Anticipate organizational and talent needs, bringing forward insights and recommendations rather than waiting for issues to emerge.

  • Help create a scalable model that can evolve as VaxCare and the People Team grow.
  • Partner with leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, role clarity, accountability, and capability needs.
  • Help align work, structure, roles, and talent with business priorities and VaxCare's future needs.
  • Identify organizational patterns and opportunities to improve effectiveness, collaboration, decision-making, and accountability.
  • Guide leaders through organizational and workforce change with thoughtful planning, communication, and change leadership.
  • Use business and workforce insights to identify emerging capabilities, talent gaps, and organizational risks.
  • Lead talent discussions with business leaders, including talent reviews, succession and leadership continuity, development priorities, and critical-role planning.
  • Strengthen leadership effectiveness through coaching, feedback, and thoughtful talent decisions.
  • Partner with leaders to identify, develop, engage, and retain critical and high-potential talent.
  • Strengthen performance management by helping leaders establish clear expectations, differentiate performance, and address issues effectively.
  • Partner across the People Team to translate enterprise talent strategies into meaningful action within the business.
  • Advise leaders on complex employee relations matters with sound judgment, consistency, discretion, and appropriate consideration of risk.
  • Coach leaders through challenging performance situations, workplace concerns, and team dynamics.
  • Look beyond individual issues to identify patterns and root causes that may signal broader leadership or organizational needs.
  • Design and facilitate employee focus groups to deepen engagement survey insights, identify key themes and root causes, and translate feedback into actionable recommendations.
  • Use employee feedback, engagement insights, and workforce data to identify opportunities to strengthen the employee experience.
  • Help leaders translate VaxCare's culture and values into everyday leadership practices and experiences.
  • Serve as a connector between business leaders and the broader People Team, ensuring needs are understood and solutions are coordinated.
  • Partner closely with Talent, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and People Operations to deliver integrated solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Bring business insights back to the People Team to inform enterprise programs, priorities, and practices.
  • Contribute to building a more strategic, scalable, and integrated People function as VaxCare grows.
  • Commute to Office: Must be able to commute to and from the corporate office for each scheduled shift.
  • Prolonged sitting or standing: Team members must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, as much of the work involves sitting at a computer or workstation. Some hybrid or office-based roles may also require the ability to stand for portions of a shift.
  • Repetitive motions: Significant use of the hands, wrists, and fingers is required for tasks like typing, using a computer mouse, and handling paperwork.
  • Visual acuity: This job requires the ability to view a computer screen and read documents for extended periods.
  • Communication: Team members must be able to clearly express and exchange ideas in English to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers.
