Director, Outreach & Community Programs
About The Position
The Director of Outreach and Community Programs provides leadership and oversight for the organization's outreach, community-based support, and shelter programs. Reporting to the Executive Director, Operations, the Director supports Program Managers and front-line staff while ensuring services are delivered in alignment with feminist, anti-oppressive, decolonizing, and harm reduction principles. The Director oversees program operations, budgets, performance, reporting, quality improvement, and compliance with organizational and funder requirements. The role also supports program development, funding proposals and grant applications, and works with funders to ensure programs remain responsive, effective, and aligned with organizational priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's degree preferred).
- Extensive experience in managing and overseeing operations, preferably in a non-profit or social services environment.
- Strong knowledge of feminist, anti-oppression, and decolonization theories and practices.
- Excellent leadership, supervision, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to interpret policies and decisions aligned with organizational mission, vision, and values.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in staff management, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive work environment.
- Familiarity with community engagement, public relations, and advocacy activities.
- Ability to respond to emergencies and attend sites outside of normal working hours.
- All positions are subject to a criminal record check, including vulnerable sector check.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a vehicle while on shift.
