About The Position

Leadership responsibility for a significant program or functional area in a department, institute, or division that has organizational impact. Plans, coordinates, and manages all aspects of the assigned program or functional area, maintaining collaborative and effective working relationships with internal and external colleagues and associates. Works with leadership in determining strategic goals and ensures decisions are implemented in a positive and timely manner.

Requirements

• Master's degree with five years of progressive and applicable experience in the area served required; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Significant experience and documented success in setting strategic direction and delivering on objectives for a business unit, company or academic unit.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of functional area to served
• Strong project and process management skills
• Knowledge of program/project management techniques and methods
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Highly self-motivated professional with ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
• Ability to achieve results with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytic skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, work independently and in a matrix-team or collaborative setting
• Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, reporting and budgeting
• Working knowledge of all MS Office applications including Word and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall administration and coordination of the day-to-day delivery of program or functional area services.
• Makes strategic decisions based on analysis and goals and objectives of assigned program.
• Continuously analyzes systems and processes.
• Develops and implements best practices and appropriate changes to improve outcomes in a timely manner.
• Creates evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determines the need for improvements.
• Initiates and sets goals for programs and functional area according to the strategic objectives of the organization and leadership.
• Assists leadership in defining goals and strategic plans.
• Assists leader with budget development and planning.
• Ensures areas of responsibility meet fiscal requirements and monitors expenditures.
• Ensures program and functional area operations and activities adhere to any legal guidelines and internal policies.
• Keeps senior management informed with detailed and accurate reports or presentations.
• Develops appropriate communication and communication methods to facilitate the flow of information and maximizes effective communication throughout the program.
• Communicates services with other departments and vendors as applicable.
• Facilitates and/or conducts individual and group presentations as needed.
• May supervise the work and manage performance of assigned staff.
• Participates in committees as appropriate.
• Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
