About The Position

Amerisure is currently recruiting for a Director, Office of the CIO that can be onsite in our Farmington Hills office. This role will be part time. The ideal candidate will also possess the following skill set. Summary Statement Leads the optimization and effectiveness of the IT domain while enhancing the strategy, planning, and delivery of IT services. Oversees key IT areas, including strategic planning, program planning and delivery, communications, training programs, third-party management, and performance metrics. Effectively collaborates, coordinates, and ensures technical alignment across multiple IT programs, releases, and cross-project initiatives. Promotes and delivers transparent communication to IT, business stakeholders, and other partners regarding implementation progress, as well as issues, risks, and technology performance decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • 10 years of experience in software delivery building strategies and roadmaps.
  • 3 years of experience in technology implementation and delivery.
  • 3 years of Program management, including expertise in change management practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong focus on collaboration and workflow technologies.
  • Highly collaborative, adaptable, and committed to building strong partnerships with teams and individuals.
  • Strong problem-solving, risk management, and communication skills with the ability to navigate a highly visible and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to think strategically with supporting analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Proactively identifies challenges or issues, leveraging diverse teams and data sources to diagnose problems and recommend effective solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) and Certified Product Owner (CSPO) certification preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily management of CIO priorities, including strategic planning, program planning and delivery, communications, training programs, third-party management, and performance metrics.
  • Lead technology program planning, ensuring clear communication, dependency management, risk mitigation, and issue resolution.
  • Facilitate IT leadership team organization to support the planning and execution of technology initiatives, including cross-functional coordination.
  • Manage objectives and key results (OKRs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track IT success.
  • Plan and coordinate technology environments, including production pathways.
  • Communicate department and program achievements across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in team performance and processes while addressing roadblocks that impact initiative execution.
  • Establish and maintain work tracking standards within selected tools (Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence) for program management.
  • Attend leadership meetings, document action items, track deadlines, and ensure projects and processes stay on course.
  • Proactively anticipate potential issues requiring diplomacy and situational sensitivity, providing solutions and guidance to mitigate challenges.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, competitor strategies, and emerging technologies relevant to IT operations.
