Director of Young Adult Housing
About The Position
As the Director of Young Adult Housing, you’ll lead programs supporting older youth and young adults experiencing housing instability or transitioning from foster care. You’ll strengthen teams and community partnerships while helping young adults build stability and independence. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, nonprofit management, or a related field required.
- Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience in the housing industry.
- Minimum of three years of experience in housing, child welfare, homelessness prevention, young adult services, or a related field.
- Knowledge and expertise in federal HUD funding streams and processes.
- Strong leadership ability, interpersonal skills and team management with the ability to train and develop staff.
- Travel required with or without accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for youth drop-in centers, housing programs and social enterprise programs within FosterAdopt Connect’s Connect Café.
- Leads teams and programs serving older youth and young adults who are currently or formerly involved in foster care and/or experiencing housing instability.
- Ensures high-quality services, strong program outcomes, and compliance with applicable funding requirements.
- Develops community and housing partnerships and expands opportunities for safe, affordable housing.
- Develops expertise in HUD funding and supports sustainable funding efforts.
- Helps connect young adults with employment, education, transportation, financial resources, and other community supports.
