About The Position

Under the supervision of the head women’s basketball coach, the Director of Women’s Basketball Player Development is responsible for enhancing the skill development, performance, and overall growth of student-athletes within the women's basketball program. This role focuses on individualized player development, on-court training, game film analysis, player scouting, and mentorship while fostering a positive and competitive team culture. The position collaborates closely with the coaching staff to optimize player progression and team success. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • At least one year of experience in player development, coaching, scouting, and/or basketball operations with women’s basketball.
  • Knowledge of the Dribble Drive offensive system and the ability to effectively teach and implement its principles and strategies.
  • Knowledge of NCAA and SEC policies and regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, game strategy, and player development principles.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to inspire and motivate athletes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with players, coaches, and support staff.
  • Ability to work with student athletes of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience in the sport of women’s basketball at the NCAA Division I level.
