About The Position

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Warehouse Operations and Logistics is responsible for the oversight of all warehousing, inventory, fulfillment, and logistics activities in the company. This includes direction, management, and oversight of receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, and the management of third-party logistics (3PL) and freight partners. Ensures on-time, accurate, and cost-effective movement of goods from inbound receipt through outbound delivery. Reports operational and financial information on a regular and timely basis to management. Submits capital purchases and significant proposed actions for approval. Handles special projects as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with a focus on Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or distribution management
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Experience managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers, carriers, and freight relationships
  • Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control systems
  • Experience in fast-paced, high-volume organization, which mandates quick decision making and effective communication
  • Continuous improvement attitude; ability to suggest and implement best practices
  • Highly fluent in computer operation with experience with various software applications (ERP, WMS, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Asana, Slack, etc)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate and collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to positively influence others and to deal tactfully and confidently with difficult situations
  • Creative, strategic mindset with the ability to turn concepts into action
  • Highly consistent and organized, with the ability to maintain accurate and timely records
  • Ability to work onsite at the Austin-area facility

Responsibilities

  • Direct and optimize all warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and shipping, to meet service, cost, and quality targets
  • Own inventory accuracy across the facility by managing cycle count and physical inventory programs, identifying discrepancies, and implementing corrective action to prevent future inconsistencies
  • Establish and implement methods, systems, and best practices that support inventory control, warehouse management (WMS), and order fulfillment
  • Manage outbound fulfillment operations to ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time to meet customer and retailer requirements
  • Develop and manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to meet established cost, service, and delivery targets
  • Establish, implement, and manage a system to evaluate, monitor, and report logistics and 3PL/carrier scorecard performance
  • Analyze order volume, throughput, and capacity to develop labor, space, and equipment plans that support business growth and seasonal demand
  • Develop and execute strategies to reduce freight, fulfillment, and warehousing costs while maintaining service levels
  • Ensure warehouse operations comply with safety standards and maintain a safe, organized, and efficient working environment
  • Manage department budget, associated costs, and resources
  • Participate as a member of the operations team in making cross-functional operational decisions
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Quality to ensure seamless order-to-delivery flow
  • Select, evaluate, and manage employees to ensure the efficient operations of the function
  • Manage multiple related teams, set organizational priorities, and allocate resources
  • Identify and resolve complex technical, operational, and organizational problems
