Your Impact The Director of Warehouse and Distribution is responsible for management of the new Pooler, GA facility (170,000 sq. ft. building, with 20 team members) and all aspects of distribution within the facilities. This role will develop and implement strategies for improving Key Performance Indicators including shrink, incident rates, overtime, pick rates, order accuracy, and customer satisfaction. The Director will be an expert in Safety, Continuous Improvement, and Warehouse Operations.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Warehouse Manager or Director of Warehousing is a must have.
  • Expertise in creating warehouse management procedures and best practices
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
  • Leadership skills and ability manage staff
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience implementing or managing a safety program is required

Nice To Haves

  • Continuous Improvement Experience is preferred
  • Bachelor Degree is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintains inbound receiving process while focusing on maintaining or improving container receiving times.
  • Controls inventory levels by managing a robust cycle count process
  • Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements.
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Implementing and Managing the Safety Program
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts to improve efficiency
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees
  • Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Maintaining a close relationship with local staffing agencies will be important.
  • Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Monitor, manage, and communicate key KPI’s across all phases of operations
  • Maintain a relationship with local law enforcement and fire departments and ensure our facility is up to code
  • This role will be the point of contact for anything related to managing the facility. This included, fire department, police department, security system, inbound and outbound freight companies, and more.
