About The Position

Motion & Flow Control Products, Inc. (MFCP) is a leading industrial distributor and solutions provider specializing in fluid power, motion, and process control technologies. Partnering with Parker Hannifin, MFCP serves various markets including agriculture, food & beverage, heavy equipment, life sciences, transportation, maritime, power generation, and entertainment. The company prides itself on its team of proficient engineers, specialists, and technical sales staff who bring extensive industry knowledge to the western states. MFCP is currently focusing on enhancing efficiency and automation within its internal supply chain and fulfillment activities. To support this initiative, MFCP is establishing a centralized distribution center in Littleton, CO, which will serve as the primary distribution hub for approximately half of the company's Branch network. This facility will feature advanced warehouse automation technologies. MFCP also plans to open a second distribution center on the west coast to further consolidate its internal supply chain and drive business value. The Director of Distribution will provide strategic and operational leadership for MFCP’s distribution network, overseeing the startup and operation of the Littleton facility and future distribution centers. This role is responsible for distribution center performance, transportation and logistics, inventory integrity, and fulfillment effectiveness to support business growth, customer service, safety, quality, and cost objectives. Operating at the Director level, this position leads through managers and staff, manages the departmental budget and performance goals, and collaborates cross-functionally to implement strategic plans, improve operating methods, and ensure distribution capabilities align with long-term organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, industrial engineering, or a related field required
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in distribution, warehouse, logistics, or supply chain leadership
  • At least 3 years leading managers, supervisors, or multi-site operations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of distribution operations, transportation, inventory control, fulfillment processes, labor planning, budgeting, and KPI-based performance management.
  • Ability to work through complex operational issues using strong analytical, financial, and organizational knowledge to develop methods, improve processes, and align departmental performance with long-term business strategy.
  • Experience developing high-performing teams, driving accountability, influencing cross-functional partners and senior leaders, and leading change in a growth-oriented environment.
  • Experience with warehouse and business systems, including WMS, ERP, RF scanning, and data-driven performance reporting
  • Strong knowledge of applicable safety, OSHA, DOT, and quality practices within a distribution environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally and represent the function effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel to distribution and branch locations as needed
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Hold a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Key leadership capabilities include fostering teamwork, building collaborative relationships, meeting deadlines, managing multiple priorities, attention to detail, and leading through others.

  • Epicor Prophet 21 experience is a plus
  • ISO-based quality systems experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Direct and continuously improve distribution operations, including receiving, warehousing, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, transfers, and transportation, to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient flow of goods across the network.
  • Develop and execute distribution strategies, operating standards, and network capabilities that support business growth, customer service expectations, and long-term organizational objectives.
  • Lead the stand-up and operation of the Littleton distribution center and support future distribution center expansion, including facility readiness, labor planning, process design, and operational stabilization.
  • Own departmental budgets, labor planning, and performance metrics; monitor results, assess operational risks and gaps, and implement corrective actions to improve service, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Establish and maintain effective inventory integrity, shipping, and receiving controls to ensure accurate records, audit readiness, and alignment with organizational and customer requirements.
  • Manage relationships and performance of carriers, vendors, and fulfillment partners to optimize transportation, freight cost, service reliability, and inbound and outbound execution.
  • Lead and develop managers and staff through clear goals, accountability, coaching, succession planning, and performance management to build a high-performing distribution organization.
  • Partner with Sales, Purchasing, Finance, IT, and branch leadership to improve systems, standardize best practices, and align distribution operations with enterprise-wide strategic priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable safety, OSHA, DOT, quality, and regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and accountability.
