About The Position

The Director of Undergraduate Services supports the operational, academic, and promotional initiatives of the College of Business (COB) at Lipscomb University. The Director ensures smooth administrative processes, enhances faculty and student engagement, and serves as the primary advocate and resource for undergraduate students while working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and university partners. This role works to create a supportive and enriching educational experience that prepares students for professional success.

Requirements

  • Manage undergraduate curriculum implementation and ensure compliance with accreditation standards (AACSB)
  • Coordinate course scheduling in collaboration with department chairs and program directors
  • Maintain student information systems and ensure data integrity
  • Support retention strategies and early intervention programs for at-risk students
  • Coordinate new student orientation and transition programming specific to the College of Business
  • Provide operational and administrative support to the Chair and Vice Chair as needed
  • Serve as primary point of contact for students navigating academic challenges or policy questions
  • Oversee student petitions, academic appeals, and exception requests
  • Administer academic policies and procedures for undergraduate programs
  • Assist with class schedule creation and input in collaboration with department chairs and program directors
  • Monitor course enrollment and capacity to optimize student access
  • Clear graduating COB seniors for commencement, ensuring all degree requirements are met
  • Manage ITG (invitations, tickets, and guest management) and regalia orders for COB seniors
  • Serve as liaison between students, faculty, and university offices (Registrar, Financial Aid, Career Services, etc.)
  • Partner with Admissions and Enrollment Management on recruitment and yield initiatives
  • Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development and assessment of student learning outcomes
  • Represent the College of Business on university committees related to undergraduate education
  • Build relationships with alumni, employers, and community partners to support student opportunities
  • Assist with undergraduate tracking related to job placement and career outcomes (primarily during summer months)
  • Maintain accurate student records and generate reports on enrollment, retention, and graduation metrics
  • Supervise academic advisors, student success coordinators, and support staff as needed
  • Contribute to the college's strategic planning efforts related to undergraduate education
  • Stay current on best practices in student services, advising, and higher education trends
  • Assess effectiveness of programs and services through data analysis and continuous improvement
  • Assist Dean and Director of Accreditation to collect, analyze, and report data to support accreditation efforts.
