About The Position

Absolute International Security is seeking a professional Director of Training to lead all aspects of our security training facility, from state-licensed curriculum design through instructor development, compliance, and day-to-day training operations. This role is responsible for the quality and integrity of every program we deliver, ensuring students graduate job-ready, licenses and regulatory standing stay in good order, and the facility's training reputation continues to develop. The ideal candidate combines instructional leadership with hands-on knowledge of security, law enforcement, or military training standards, and is equally comfortable in a classroom, on the range, and in stakeholder meetings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of private security operations, training, instructional leadership, or education program management, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Working knowledge of state licensing requirements for security guard training (or a directly comparable regulated training environment, e.g. law enforcement or military instruction).
  • Possess a valid guard card permit or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record necessary to operate Company vehicle.
  • Must be at least 26 years old
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and additional screening requirements
  • Demonstrated experience designing curriculum and evaluating instructional effectiveness
  • Experience hiring, developing, and managing instructional staff
  • Experience with use-of-force doctrine and defensible tactical/de-escalation instruction
  • Familiarity with firearms and/or baton certification training programs
  • Experience maintaining a training facility's licensure through state audits
  • Strong budget management and operational planning skills
  • Effective written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong multi-tasking, task management, and attention to detail
  • Possesses a professional and customer service oriented demeanor with emphasis on team collaboration and employee/client relations
  • Acts with confidentiality and discretion
  • Demonstrates initiative and self-motivation
  • Must be dependable, committed to ethical conduct, and acts with integrity
  • Available to work outside normally scheduled hours on an as-needed basis and accessible via phone 24/7 for emergency response

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in education, criminal justice, organizational leadership, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • Experience in the security industry or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategic direction, quality standards, and growth plan for the training facility's full course catalog
  • Own training outcomes end-to-end, tying curriculum decisions to guard performance, client satisfaction, and retention
  • Report on training KPIs (completion rates, licensing pass rates, client feedback) to executive leadership
  • Maintain the facility's state licensure and ensure all courses meet mandated hour requirements and approved curricula for unarmed and armed guard training
  • Serve as primary point of contact for state regulatory audits and inspections
  • Monitor changes in use-of-force law, firearms/baton certification standards, and other applicable regulations, and update curriculum accordingly
  • Design, evaluate, and continuously improve course content, blending classroom instruction with scenario-based and hands-on skills training
  • Use test scores, field performance data, and client feedback to identify and close training gaps
  • Develop training materials, assessments, and certification standards for new and existing programs
  • Recruit, hire, train, and certify instructors, including former law enforcement and military personnel
  • Build and run instructor evaluation, coaching, and train-the-trainer programs
  • Manage instructor scheduling and performance, including addressing conduct or compliance issues
  • Own the training department's budget, including equipment, facility, and vendor costs
  • Manage classroom, range, and simulation facility logistics and equipment needs
  • Plan class scheduling and instructor capacity to meet client hiring demand
  • Communicate training policies, changes, and performance clearly to instructors, trainees, and executive leadership
  • Partner with client-facing teams to align training content with client and industry expectations
  • Model and reinforce a professional, safety-first, de-escalation-focused culture across the training program
