The Director of Technology is a senior leadership position responsible for the strategic direction, governance, and day-to-day operations of the company's internal Information Technology function. Reporting directly to the VP of Technology, this role leads the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise IT systems, infrastructure, and architecture across all business units. This is mainly an internal, non-client-facing role focused on enabling operational excellence and digital transformation within Centella.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with at least 3 years in a Director-level or equivalent role
  • •Demonstrated experience leading large-scale ERP, MES, or enterprise system implementations
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), and network architecture
  • Experience managing IT in a regulated industry (medical devices, pharma, manufacturing, or healthcare)
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, ISO 13485, and/or SOX compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to manage multi-million dollar IT budgets and vendor contracts
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in IT, Business Administration, or related discipline
  • ITIL, TOGAF, PMP, or equivalent professional certifications
  • Experience with medical device manufacturing systems (LIMS, QMS, MES)
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics in a manufacturing and/or Distribution and Services contenxt
  • Experience working in FDA-regulated or HealthCare environments with validated systems (CSV/GAMP5)
  • Exposure to M&A IT integration projects

Responsibilities

  • IT Strategy & Enterprise Architecture Define and execute the multi-year IT roadmap aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and govern enterprise architecture standards, frameworks, and design principles.
  • Lead technology evaluation, selection, and lifecycle management for core business systems.
  • Oversee cloud, on-premises, and hybrid infrastructure strategies, ensuring scalability and resilience.
  • Drive adoption of industry best practices (ITIL, TOGAF, or equivalent) across IT operations.
  • Maintain an up-to-date technology landscape map and identify consolidation opportunities.
  • Champion continuous improvement and modernization of legacy systems and technical debt.
  • Provide regular architecture governance reviews and technology steering committee updates.
  • Systems Implementation & Project Delivery Oversee end-to-end delivery of ERP, HRIS, MES, LIMS, and other enterprise system implementations.
  • Lead vendor negotiations, contract management, and ongoing partner relationships for technology solutions.
  • Define and enforce project governance standards including scope, schedule, budget, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure successful system adoption.
  • Manage system integrations between internal platforms (ERP, CRM, supply chain, quality systems).
  • Ensure data integrity, master data management, and consistent reporting across interconnected systems.
  • Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT), change management, and training for all major deployments.
  • Maintain post-implementation support plans and measure system performance against defined KPIs.
  • IT Operations & Infrastructure Manage all internal IT operations including network, servers, endpoints, helpdesk, and cloud services.
  • Ensure high availability and business continuity through robust disaster recovery and backup strategies.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity planning, and SLA compliance across all systems.
  • Lead incident management processes and drive root cause analysis for critical IT failures.
  • Oversee IT asset management, software licensing, and hardware procurement lifecycle.
  • Define and enforce IT service management (ITSM) processes aligned with ITIL best practices.
  • Maintain and test business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) plans annually.
  • Manage helpdesk operations and ensure end-user satisfaction metrics meet or exceed targets.
  • Cybersecurity, Compliance & Risk Management Define and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and controls aligned with HIPAA, FDA, and ISO 27001.
  • Oversee vulnerability management, penetration testing, and security incident response processes.
  • Ensure IT compliance with regulatory requirements applicable to medical equipment manufacturing.
  • Lead risk assessments and maintain a current IT risk register with mitigation plans.
  • Manage relationships with third-party security partners and auditors.
  • Conduct regular security awareness training programs for internal employees.
  • Ensure data privacy controls are embedded in all system designs and processes (GDPR, CCPA where applicable).
  • Represent IT in internal and external compliance audits (FDA 21 CFR Part 11, SOX, ISO 13485).
  • Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals, including infrastructure engineers, system analysts, and support staff.
  • Set clear performance objectives, conduct reviews, and build a culture of accountability and innovation.
  • Manage department budget, resource allocation, and headcount planning in collaboration with the VP of Finance.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing IT organization capable of supporting growth and regulatory demands.
  • Foster collaboration with Finance, Operations, QA, Regulatory Affairs, and R&D departments.
  • Act as IT's primary liaison to the executive leadership team for status reporting and strategic planning.
