About The Position

The Director of Supply Chain is a strategic leader responsible for purchasing, sourcing, supplier performance, inventory optimization, and materials planning in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment. This role ensures reliable supply, exceptional customer service, strong working capital performance, and cost competitiveness while leveraging ERP systems to drive visibility, accountability, and data-driven decision making. The Director of Supply Chain partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Sales to resolve supply chain challenges, mitigate risk, and deliver on customer commitments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience in industrial manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in purchasing, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and inventory optimization.
  • Strong ERP experience and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive cost productivity, improve service levels, and solve complex supply chain challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies that improve customer service, profitability, and operational performance.
  • Lead Purchasing, Sourcing, Inventory Control, and Supplier Management functions.
  • Build a high-performing team focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and customer success.
  • Develop sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, delivery, and risk.
  • Lead supplier negotiations, contracts, and commercial agreements.
  • Deliver annual productivity and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Identify, qualify, develop, and manage strategic suppliers.
  • Establish supplier scorecards and business reviews focused on quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
  • Partner with suppliers to improve performance and ensure supply continuity.
  • Lead mitigation and recovery plans for supplier-related disruptions.
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance customer service and working capital objectives.
  • Improve inventory accuracy, material availability, and inventory turns.
  • Lead forecasting, replenishment, and planning processes to support production and customer demand.
  • Reduce shortages, excess inventory, and obsolescence.
  • Leverage ERP systems to drive planning accuracy, inventory visibility, purchasing effectiveness, and performance reporting.
  • Ensure data integrity and process discipline across supply chain operations.
  • Develop KPIs and dashboards that enable proactive decision making and issue resolution.
  • Ensure supply chain performance supports on-time delivery and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to resolve supply shortages, delivery risks, and operational constraints.
  • Escalate, prioritize, and resolve critical supply chain issues impacting customers and business performance.
