About The Position

The Director of Supply Chain Operations will lead the development, implementation and administration of supply chain operations for The Hospital of Central Connecticut, MidState Medical Center and the Bradley Campus in alignment with strategic system goals and initiatives. This includes inventory management, distribution, receiving, clinical alignment, mailroom and courier. The Director will have strong involvement in clinical care redesign and clinical value team committees and initiatives. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Seven plus years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain management/operations
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles in the areas procurement, receiving, distribution, replenishment and equipment management
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, cost analysis, standard costing, statistical control and other principles of cost management and process improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong working knowledge of supply chain ERP systems, including clinical and non-clinical inventory management

Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day distribution and supply management operations for the Central Region
  • Develops and implements methods and systems for improving operational efficiencies, and controlling supply inventory and optimization
  • Maintain effective communications with hospital executives, department heads, suppliers and appropriate others to ensure effective departmental operations
  • Provides leadership, guidance and support to physicians and staff to develop their understanding of supply chain best practices to ensure operational and financial goals are met
  • In conjunction with system supply chain leadership develops goals which are aligned with the objectives of the region and system and execute system initiatives at the site level
  • Ensures adequate supply levels and coordinates timely supply distribution
  • Develop and implement cost reduction strategies and determine budgetary needs for designated areas and manage to the prescribed budget
