About The Position

Granite City Electric is seeking a Director of Supply Chain Management to oversee inventory accuracy and integrity for over $60 million in inventory across 4 distribution centers and 30 service branches. This role manages approximately 24,000 SKUs and leads a department of 8 staff in Purchasing and Inventory Control. The ideal candidate will possess advanced expertise in inventory management, vendor management, demand planning, purchasing analytics, and relationship development. Familiarity with consolidated buying groups, rebate tracking, and vendor engagement programs is preferred. Responsibilities include managing dead and excess stock, improving inventory accuracy processes, and developing metrics for service levels, quality, and fulfillment rates. The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in related field
Significant experience in multi facility Supply Chain and Purchasing roles
Demonstrated skill in SKU stocking analysis and stock movement review
Extensive experience in demand planning and seasonal impacts
Committed to culture of continuous improvement and implementing value added change
Managed both purchasing and inventory control functions at senior management level
Proficiency in report development and data analytics required
Demonstrated skill in vendor and relations management and performance optimization.
Hands on dynamic individual.
Team player with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with consolidated buying groups, rebate tracking and management and vendor engagement programs is preferred but not required.
Prior Wholesale Distribution experience a plus

Responsibilities

Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of over $60 million inventory located in 4 distribution centers as well as 30 service branches.
Managing the SKU assortment of approximately 24,000 items.
Overseeing a department of 8 staff in both Purchasing and Inventory Control.
Developing and implementing relevant and critical metrics to support best-in-class service levels, quality and fulfillment rates.
Management of dead and excess stock within company policy standards.
Manage and improve processes to support overall inventory accuracy.
Active in development of team and their performance.
