Veterinary United is growing, and we’re looking for a Director of Strategic Recruitment to lead the charge in attracting, engaging, and hiring exceptional talent across our family of veterinary hospitals. We’re looking for a strategic, relationship-driven recruiting leader who can build strong pipelines, partner closely with leadership, support clinic staffing needs, and help tell the Veterinary United story in a way that feels genuine, people-first, and aligned with who we are. Veterinary United is an independent, family-owned veterinary group based in Michigan. We believe in practicing great medicine, empowering our teams, supporting clinical autonomy, and creating workplaces where people actually want to stay. The Director of Strategic Recruitment plays a key role in making that happen. The Director of Strategic Recruitment leads Veterinary United’s recruitment strategy across all roles, locations, and service lines — from veterinarians and clinical team members to leadership, salary-based roles, and key Hub positions. This position blends big-picture strategy with hands-on execution. You’ll lead recruiting priorities, oversee systems and reporting, support a recruiting team, build DVM pipelines, collaborate with Marketing and Operations, and serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on workforce planning, market trends, and talent availability. The right person will be comfortable moving between strategic planning, outbound sourcing, candidate engagement, department leadership, and process improvement — sometimes all in the same day.
