About The Position

The Bureau of Public Health Clinics (BPHC) mission is to promote a healthy community by providing New Yorkers with the resources needed to make informed and empowered health decisions; identify and treat tuberculosis and provide immunization and sexual health services regardless of ability to pay or immigration status. BPHC provides direct clinic services to people seeking health care; monitors disease trends; provides education and training to service providers and community groups; conducts research; and develops policies and programs to deliver high-quality clinical care which best serve New Yorkers. The Director of Strategic Community Partnerships will work within the community where our clinics are located. They will report directly to Senior Director of Workforce and Community Engagement.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in public health, Public Health Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in public health, healthcare, community engagement, partnership development, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated supervisory experience managing staff, projects, and performance.
  • Experience working in sexual health, public health clinics, primary care, community healthcare, or community-based settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and sustain multi-sector partnerships.
  • Experience implementing patient advisory groups, community advisory models, or patient engagement strategies.
  • Experience developing performance metrics, reporting structures, and quality improvement processes.
  • Familiarity with NYC public health systems, healthcare networks, and diverse community landscapes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a data-driven, borough- and clinic-specific key stakeholder strategy aligned with BPHC priorities, community needs, and high-priority geographic areas.
  • Provide strategic oversight to ensure provider partnerships and patient engagement efforts are integrated with clinical priorities, outreach strategies, and workforce initiatives.
  • Translate data, community insights, and programmatic priorities into actionable strategies that improve access, awareness, linkage referrals, and continuity of care.
  • Lead the design and scaling of sustainable partnership models that strengthen long-term community impact.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop two direct reports overseeing provider partnerships and patient advisory initiatives, ensuring clear goals, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Foster a culture of leadership, ownership, innovation, and continuous learning within and across teams.
  • Guide the development and expansion of strategic partnerships with community-based organizations, healthcare providers, and cross-sector stakeholders.
  • Strengthen and manage provider networks to improve referral pathways, care coordination, and linkage-to-care outcomes.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a Patient Advisory Group, ensuring patient perspectives inform program design, service delivery, and quality improvement.
  • Establish systems to systematically collect, analyze, and apply patient feedback to decision-making and engagement strategies.
  • Oversee operational systems, workflows, and tracking mechanisms to improve coordination, accountability, and visibility across partnership and engagement activities.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics, reporting structures, and quality assurance processes to evaluate impact, drive continuous improvement, and inform leadership decision-making.
