About The Position

Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Community is seeking a creative, strategic, and experienced Director of Strategic Communications to lead digital communications, brand development, and storytelling initiatives that strengthen its reputation and advance organizational goals. The role develops and implements strategic communications supporting the Still Hopes brand and its affiliates, and oversees digital content creation, social media, website management, multimedia production, and internal and external communications to ensure consistent messaging across platforms. Working collaboratively with organizational leaders and departments, the Director develops engaging content, strengthens audience relationships, analyzes communication performance, and supports public relations and crisis communications. The role also manages digital communications projects and resources, ensures projects are completed on time and within budget, and ensures communications comply with organizational policies, privacy requirements, HIPAA, and digital privacy guidelines.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Communications, or a related field.
At least two years of experience in digital marketing, digital content, integrated marketing communications, public relations, or a related field.
Strong writing, storytelling, and visual content development skills.
Proficiency with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, and familiarity with other established and emerging platforms.
Working knowledge of website content management systems, website maintenance, and digital content publishing.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain compliance with applicable privacy requirements.
Demonstrated leadership ability, emotional intelligence, professionalism, and a collaborative approach.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

Demonstrated knowledge of SEO, website traffic, social media analytics, and digital performance measurement.
Experience with photography, videography, audio production, lighting, graphic design, and video/audio editing software, including Adobe Creative Suite or comparable professional tools.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategic communications and brand initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
Collaborate with departments and leadership to create consistent internal and external messaging.
Lead digital storytelling and content creation for multiple target audiences.
Develop, manage, and maintain the social media and digital communications calendar.
Create and oversee written copy, photography, graphics, video, audio, and multimedia presentations.
Manage website content, maintenance, vendors, and digital performance.
Oversee digital advertising, graphic design, and brand consistency across communication channels.
Monitor and respond to social media engagement, online reviews, and comments in a timely and HIPAA-compliant manner.
Collaborate with the Public Relations team on press releases, media campaigns, media relationships, and crisis communications.
Partner with Marketing and Sales on market analysis, brand positioning, and strategic communication initiatives.
Monitor website traffic, search engine optimization, social media analytics, and multimedia performance to evaluate effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
Oversee photography, videography, podcasts, and live streaming of public and private events.
Maintain an organized electronic library of communications content and equipment, including appropriate releases and permissions.
Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Stay current on digital communications technologies, industry trends, and emerging platforms.
Ensure communications comply with organizational policies, privacy requirements, HIPAA, and digital privacy guidelines.
