About The Position

The Director of Stadium Events and Engagement recruits, plans and manages non-athletic and athletic events at Canvas Stadium and other athletic venues on Colorado State University’s campus. This position supports the engagement and revenue goals established each year by the Department of Athletics. This position also manages the Men’s Basketball and Football game day premium hospitality operations. The position supervises one full-time staff member and leads the supervision of student hourly and non-student hourly positions. This position also leads the management of external stakeholders who are necessary or required for event operations such as CSU Facilities Management team, local police/fire, OVG360 and catering services, and Allied Security services. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of three years of event planning or facility management experience
  • Previous experience of problem solving in highly urgent situations
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills
  • Previous experience with budgeting and tracking revenue and expenses
  • Background check
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree
  • Previous working experience in NCAA Division I Athletics
  • Prior Event Management experience and/or Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) certification
  • Experience with audio visual and event rentals/vendors preferred
  • Proficiency with technology and social media to enhance efficiency
  • Experience recruiting and hosting large events including concerts, community events, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Executes contact negotiations for campus departments and third-party clients and is responsible for developing and managing budgets to achieve goals within unit.
  • Responsible for assigning responsibilities to maximize productivity and minimize conflict.
  • Including staffing needs for 300+ non-athletic events annually and over 100,000 visitors annually to Canvas Stadium for non-athletic events.
  • Position always demonstrates high quality customer service and ensures the same for supervisees.
  • Position reports to the Assistant Athletic Director of External Relations and assists with the planning of internal executive engagement events.
  • Position understands and applies appropriate policies, regulations, and procedures required by variety of entitles including University, Community, state, NCAA, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics or supervisor
