Annapolis Area Christian School (AACS) is a Christ-centered independent school serving students from Kindergarten through 12th grade across four campuses in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Starting this coming school year, AACS will enter an exciting new chapter as our middle and high school programs unite on our 85-acre campus in Severn, Maryland, bringing students in grades 6–12 together on one campus. This transition will strengthen alignment across academics, arts, and athletics while expanding opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and community. AACS partners with families and local churches to educate and disciple students in a Christ-centered environment that encourages intellectual curiosity, spiritual formation, and excellence in every area of life. Athletics plays a vital role in that mission. We believe sport is a powerful space for developing character, resilience, discipline, and leadership. All Directors, Coaches, and Staff must profess faith in Jesus Christ and be actively involved in a local church. Annapolis Area Christian School is seeking a Director of Sports Performance to lead our strength and conditioning, speed and agility, and overall injury prevention for high school and middle school athletes. This position will oversee 1-2 strength and conditioning coaches, coordinate with all Varsity Head Coaches, and report directly to the Director of Athletics. Our facilities are excellent, featuring a large weight room, locker rooms, and outdoor training areas at your disposal. This is a year-round position. Summer hours are 7:30am-11:30am, Monday through Thursday. There are slight variations during the first two weeks of August due to staggered sports starts. The school year begins on Aug 18. School year hours are roughly 10am to 6pm, Monday through Friday. Some holiday hours required. This role is focused on building a clear, aligned, and sustainable program that emphasizes both player development and discipleship through the classroom of sport, specifically, strength and conditioning. The Director reports to the Athletic Director and supports all athletic coaches and their programs. This is the only position in athletics that works with every single student-athlete, and as such, it is a crucial component of departmental alignment, of creating the overall athletic department culture, and of identifying potential cross-pollination possibilities between sports. The size of our student body makes it pivotal that our athletes play multiple sports. Training programs that support and encourage this are crucial. Programming should focus on injury prevention, maximizing athleticism, improving discipline, and building confidence, all within a discipleship model.
