About The Position

The Director of Snow Sports provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Summit at Snoqualmie's comprehensive education (Daily, Seasonal, School Groups at all four base areas) and development/competitive (Freeride, Freestyle and Race) programs. This position also leads and fosters the connection with all third-party concession schools operating at the Summit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Outdoor Education, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in Skier Services or mountain resort departments
  • Proven track record of managing large, multi-departmental teams (50+ employees)
  • PSIA/AASI Certification
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage departmental budgets as well as Capital Expense projects from ideation to completion
  • Must pass background check

Responsibilities

  • Direct all aspects of the Summit at Snoqualmie Snow Sports operations, programs, and services including Alpine, Snowboard, Nordic disciplines at four base areas (East, Central, West, Alpental) as well as Race, Freestyle, and Freeride development and competitive programs
  • Develop and execute strategic, innovative and complementary programming that appeals to diverse demographics, skill levels, and seasonal variations
  • Oversee departmental budget management, revenue optimization, and cost control initiatives
  • Lead and mentor the leadership team as a positive role model, fostering professional growth, succession planning, and strategic innovation for future organizational development
  • Actively invest in the onboarding and continued development of base area managers and supervisors, providing structured training, regular check-ins, and the resources needed to build confidence in their roles — including dedicated training on key operational platforms such as Flaik and RTP — ensuring each leader is equipped to run effective daily operations, support their staff, and deliver a high-quality guest experience.
  • Oversee and successfully manage comprehensive budget, CapEx planning, procurement and financial records
  • Analyze financial performance, implement cost-optimization and pricing strategies, and drive revenue enhancement initiatives
  • Shape memorable, safe, adventurous, and educational experiences for guests across all skill levels and age groups
  • Utilize data insights to implement systems for rapid resolution of guest concerns, process enhancements, product builds, website user experience, and service improvement to meet evolving guest expectations
  • Rectify and solve escalated service issues in a timely and positive manner to ensure guest satisfaction and repeat visitation while protecting the assets of the company
  • Collaborate with the Mountain Commerce Product Building team to ensure timely, accurate and best practice use in products and redemption
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Guest Services to provide comprehensive Snow Sports product and procedural training for all Guest Services team members, equipping sales points and the contact center with the knowledge and confidence needed to effectively represent and sell Snow Sports offerings alongside rentals and tickets.
  • Master and leverage the Flaik software platform to generate comprehensive analytics, performance metrics, and operational reports that drive strategic decision-making and optimize departmental efficiency
