About The Position

Under administrative direction, the Director of Sports Performance – Baseball leads, guides and directs the Baseball sports performance program. Develops sports performance curricula which elicit safe and correct execution of exercise techniques, guiding student-athletes through a regimen of exercises to optimize performance and decrease injury potential; teaching proper weightlifting, speed, agility and conditioning techniques; encouraging and motivating student-athletes to train and perform to their utmost potential. Promotes Intercollegiate Athletics as an integral part of the University.

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of coaching experience in an intercollegiate environment preferably at a Division I level.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Good organizational, interpersonal communications and computer skills necessary.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience working with college level athletes in strength and conditioning.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Must be proficient in the instruction, assessment, evaluation and supervision of multiple weightlifting techniques.
  • Ability to physically demonstrate proper exercise techniques and have knowledge of use and maintenance of fitness equipment.
  • Ability to assist and work independently in the corrective strategies necessary toward addressing problematic commonalities in Student-Athlete Baseball players and other sport areas as assigned.
  • Demonstrate a positive mental attitude and the ability to communicate effectively and work well with student-athletes, parents, faculty, staff and the community.
  • Possess a commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes and their ability to succeed both academically and athletically.

Nice To Haves

  • Baseball experience preferred.
  • Advanced computer knowledge is beneficial along with experience using performance technologies such as GPS , heart rate monitoring, and other performance metrics.
  • Prefer experience as prior professional, Olympic, or collegiate athlete.
  • Demonstrated ability and skill in the implementation of advanced training principles as applied to the development of speed and power.
