About The Position

Havenly Brands is seeking a Director of Sourcing to build and own the global sourcing strategy across its brand portfolio, including Interior Define, Burrow, The Citizenry, The Inside, St. Frank, and The Expert. This leadership role will manage a team of approximately 21 individuals, including regional leadership in Asia Pacific and North America/Europe. The operating model emphasizes leveraging automation and AI for efficiency, with workload split between a focused human team and AI-powered tools for costing, vendor analytics, BOM analysis, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to achieve results with limited resources. The Director of Sourcing will be responsible for building and owning the long-term global sourcing strategy, focusing on manufacturing diversification, geopolitical risk, cost and margin optimization, quality assurance, brand integrity, sourcing operations, an AI-leveraged operating model, and sustainability. This includes managing strategic senior relationships with manufacturing partners across Asia, North America, and Europe, negotiating vendor contracts and raw material agreements, and managing the budget/P&L for product cost in partnership with the CSCO and CFO to achieve IMU and margin targets. Accountability for manufacturer performance in throughput, capacity, and quality will be maintained through formal vendor scorecards, regular business reviews, and contractual commitments. Key responsibilities also include leading, building, and developing a globally distributed sourcing organization, partnering with Merchandising, Design, Product, Quality, and Logistics to integrate sourcing early in the product development cycle, ensuring alternative supply chains to mitigate risk, and leading the build-out of AI tooling and process automation. The role also involves acting as the lead expert and advocate for sourcing sustainability and ethical practices.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in global sourcing or procurement
  • 5+ years in strategic leadership roles
  • 5+ years with a consumer brand, ideally in furniture or other "big and bulky" categories
  • Upholstered furniture and made-to-order model experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of margin expansion through BOM-level negotiation, country diversification, and vendor consolidation, with quantifiable results
  • Proven experience building and leading globally distributed sourcing teams, including hands-on management of Asia-based teams across multiple countries
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI and automation to displace manual work (RFP automation, BOM analysis, cost modeling, vendor scorecards, sourcing analytics), and are comfortable as a hands-on user of AI tools, not just a sponsor of them
  • Experience navigating tariff exposure, geopolitical risk, and commodity volatility in a fast-changing trade environment
  • Product-partnered and brand-respecting - pull Design and Merchandising into sourcing early, and can drive vendor consolidation while protecting each brand's distinct identity
  • Approach ambiguous problems by figuring out what's broken and acting on it, not waiting to be told what's next
  • Move fast, take real ownership of outcomes, and hold themselves to a high bar
  • Collaborate well across teams, with a low-ego, no-drama approach to getting things done
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. We do not offer any sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Mandarin or Vietnamese language skills
  • MBA
  • Experience implementing/scaling sourcing technology such as PLM, vendor portals, or sourcing analytics platforms

Responsibilities

  • Build and own the long-term global sourcing strategy across the brand portfolio: manufacturing diversification and geopolitical risk, cost and margin, quality and brand integrity, sourcing operations, an AI-leveraged operating model, and sustainability.

  • Manage budget/P&L for product cost in partnership with the CSCO and CFO, and own IMU and margin targets across brands.
  • Hold manufacturers accountable for promised throughput, capacity, and quality through formal vendor scorecards, regular business reviews, and contractual commitments.
  • Lead, build, and develop a globally distributed sourcing organization, with direct accountability for regional teams (Asia Pacific, North America).
  • Partner with Merchandising, Design, Product, Quality, and Logistics to insert sourcing at the earliest stages of product concept and ensure operational execution downstream.
  • Ensure alternative supply is in place across categories so the business is never single-threaded on a critical vendor or country.
  • Lead the sourcing-side build-out of AI tooling and process automation that lets a small, focused team operate at the scale of a much larger one.
  • Act as the lead expert and advocate for sourcing sustainability and ethical practices, driving programs that align with customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

  • health benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability)
